Week 2- A New Heart @ The New Plan
I welcome you precious people to word of the week.Today we’re continuing as
mentioned last week to look at the first component of The New Plan -A New Heart!
“I will put my laws into their mind,and write them in their hearts.”Heb 8:10.
The heart is to the human life what the engine is to the car,it determine the state and
the total wellbeing of human life.
Here God goes for the heart,”I will put my laws into their mind,and write them in their
hearts.”
What law is God engraving in our hearts under the new plan?
The royal law of love mentioned in James 2:8.
The new commandment mentioned in John 13:34, the commandment to love.
This is loving God,loving people and loving the rest of God’s creation.
The word “I will put my laws into their minds and write them in their hearts”is fulfilled in
Rom 5:5 “The love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit
who was given to us’
One translation puts it like this, “God’s love for us floods our hearts through the Holy
Spirit who has been given to us.”
Yet another translation puts it this way,”Our hearts are full of the love of God through
the Holy Spirit which is given to us.”
This is clear,God came up with a new plan to end the rebellion of man to God,giving us
a new heart filled with divine love. Love submit,obey and it is meek.Love is the royal
law according to Scripture.
First of all,God through the Holy Spirit fills our hearts with hislove.The royal law.The
new commandment. Rom 8:2 calls this love the law of the Holy Spirit,the Spirit of life.
The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death,
the love of God in ourhearts liberate us from the hatred of rebellion against God.Loving
God is everlasting life.
1 John 5:11 “Now this is the testimony,that God has given to us eternal life: and this life
is in his Son.”
The deep work of the Holy Spirit is to make the human life love God and their own kind.
The daily work of the Holy Spirit is to enhance the flow of everlasting life in the minds
and hearts of God’s people.Loving God is everlastinglife.The law of the Spirit is
ever lasting life -making people love God and love their own kind.Populating life in us,
the divine life.Immortal life.Eternal life.The flow of life defeats death,as light defeat
darkness even so the antidote to death is life,abundance of life,never ending
everlasting life.
What a powerful new plan God came up with!
In the new plan God takes over our minds and ourhearts,though with our willing
cooperation. And filling us with the life of God in our inner man.
In the old covenant plan God commanded man to move and do things.In the new
covenant plan God is the one who is moving,commanding things and doing things in us,
through us and for us.
In the old plan God demanded man to be willing.In the new plan God works in us to will
and to do of his good pleasure.
In the old plan men walked with God.In the new plan God walk with man,Immanuel,for
“As many as are led by the Spirit are the sons of God.”
In the old plan men were asked to come to God,in the new plan God breakforth and
breaks through to man wherever they are in dungeons of darkness.
In the old plan God commanded our hearts to obey him.In the new plan God totally
removes our hearts to give us a new heart.A new heart adapted to loving and obeying
God.
In the old plan God commanded us to overcome sin.In the new plan God overcame sin
for us and handed us the victory. Sweet victory,and so we’re more than conquerors,a
people who needed not to fight at all to earn victory.Conquerors fight to earn their
victory, but not in our case, we’re more than conquerors.
What a great new plan bequeathed to us in Christ Jesus!
