Week3-More Than Conquerors ;An Exposition.
I welcome you precious people to word of the week.Today we want to do an exposition
on More Than Conquerors, our ending words from Week2.
In the old plan God commanded us to overcome sin.In the new plan God overcame sin
for us and handed us the victory.Sweet victory,and so we’re more than conquerors,a
people who needed not to fight at all to earn victory.Conquerors fight to earn their
victory,but not in our case,we’re more than conquerors.
What a great new plan bequeathed to us in Christ Jesus!
Glory to our God!
The Lord Jesus Christ who as conqueror fought for our salvation was made a little
lower than the angels in becoming a man.And in becoming a man he went lower than
men,becoming the least amongst men.Thus from the least amongst men we got our
salvation and our victory from sin,Satan,and the flesh.From the least,most humbled,
most debased man whoever walked the earth we got our eternal privileges in our God.
From the only man in Scripture ever forsaken in desperate moment of need despite
desperate plea to God we receive our eternal privileges.Transgressing Cain found
succor in God at his plea.Rebellious Esau found succor in God as he pleaded.
Disobedient Egyptian maid Hagar found water in the desert as she cried.The man with
legions of demons found succor in God without even a plea and the demons
themselves found succor in God as they pleaded in mercy to enter swines.
But not the man on Calvary’s Cross,crying with a loud voice,”Eli,Eli,lamasabachthani?
My God,my God,why have you forsaken me? “Yes he had to be forsaken,for he must
bear the full weight of judgement without diminishing a dot from it.From the only
pleading man forsaken in Scripture came the highest divine privileges to man kind on
earth.
Forsaken by God and man in Scripture,as the prophet Isaiah puts it,Isaiah 52:13-14
“Behold, my servant…his countenance was so destroyed more than any man,and his
form more than the sons of men.”That’s it,he went lower than the sons of men.His
appearance was so marred more than any man,and his form more than the sons of
men.
God looking down spiritually from heaven saw a sorry sight as he beheld the man of
Nazareth, Jesus. Isaiah 52:14(NET) “(Many were horrified by the sight of you)he was
so disfigured he no longer looked like a man.”
Look at BBE quoting Isaiah 52:14 “Peoples were surprised at him,his face was so
changed by disease as to be unlike that of a man,and his form was no longer that of the
sons of men.”
Spiritually the Lord Jesus was totally destroyed on earth.Think about this,we all only
bear our individual sins before we receive forgiveness. Jesus bore the sins of all men to
be born into the world.Now think about one man who now bore your individual sins
multiplied by over 20billion,representing the number of people who have yet walked the
earth, yet many more sinning people are still being born everyday.Jesus once for all
bore in his human body the sins of all people who will ever walk the earth,what a weight
he carried-he was totally destroyed!
The Lord Jesus was the least man ever to walk the earth,and so the beauty of heavenly
wisdom and grace is perfected-from the least of man came the victory over sin,Satan
and all evil. Glory to ourGod!
In the Lord Jesus Christ we have a new heart,a heart that will more than conquer the
devil to conquer and triumph in the high,heavenly,and holy things of God.”For as a
prince have you power with God and with men and have prevailed.”Amen!
Next week we move to number 2 of the three components of the new plan in our God.
